Faith - House District 76

Catch the Spirit of the 76th! Today we’re highlighting another of the eight wonderful, unique communities in NC House District 76. This time, it's a community known for their extravagant Fourth of July celebrations! And I can’t help myself, I’ve got to say it; where would we be without our Faith?

Years ago, I was the second person hired as an English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) teacher for Rowan-Salisbury Schools. To think that Donna Wilson and I covered 28 schools between us! I was the ESOL teacher at 14 schools in the Rowan-Salisbury district and lucky for me, Faith Elementary was one of those schools.

The students, staff and faculty at Faith Elementary were so kind, and they always had something good to eat for teachers!! What made me feel especially welcome was how they looked out for my welfare. I loved being greeted with “Glad you made it safely" on my way into work and “Look forward to seeing you next week” on my way home. How about getting a call to say, "It’s raining cats and dogs out there; be careful on your drive." That really lets a teacher know someone cares!

As your Representative in Raleigh, I will always look out for the welfare of Faith. I care about you. And I will stand for your life, liberty and pursuit of happiness; the very pillars of our Constitution, and the reason we celebrate the Fourth of July. 💙💛
